The Mission of the Lucas Valley School Community is to promote academic excellence, to nurture learning as a lifelong process, and to support all students as they become informed, productive, contributing members of society.

About lucas valley elementary

Lucas Valley Elementary School was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 2002, 2004, and 2014. We've also received the title as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2004.

Lucas Valley Elementary School is nestled among the rolling, oak-studded hills of Lucas Valley in Marin County. The neighborhood is well-maintained and features the distinctive single-story homes iconic of the Eichler design. Lucas Valley Elementary School is one of four schools within the Miller Creek School District.

The current teaching staff of 21 includes a full-time Resource Specialist and Speech and Language, Specialist. The staff also includes Home Support Teams assigned to students across all grades. These include a Resource Assistant, SDC Assistants, Psychologist, BACR New Perspectives Counselors, a Physical Education Specialist, Art Specialist, and District Music (Band, Orchestra, and Choir) Teachers for our district music program grades 3-5.
 

We currently have 22 classrooms, a library, an art room, MPR, and a music room. The campus maintains a wireless network and various play-structures that are grade-level specific. We have numerous gardens on-site as well as an outdoor classroom near Miller Creek.
